My husband and I were trying to get pregnant and didn’t realize
that it would happen so quickly for us, i.e. exactly one month after trying.
The first thing that alerted me that I might be pregnant was the fact that I
was experiencing menstrual cramps minus the flow, and I was late. I am never
late! So off to the drugstore I went get a pregnancy test. We took the test
first thing the next morning and the test not only showed that I was pregnant,
but 5weeks along.
“Wow! So quickly!” was all that I could think. I called my hubby into the bathroom to show
him the results. He was excited and gave me a high five. A high five? Really? Ok then.
So next I told my immediate family members. My mom & sis
were all worried about me getting morning sickness, while my dad was
congratulating my husband on the fact that his ‘swimmers’ were working. “Why dad, why?” was all that I could say.
Then I told my girlfriends who have children. Both women reacted
in the same manner; they gave me a bounce. What the hell! Are these natural reactions
or are my friends crazy? How did your friends and family react to your
pregnancy news?
Firecracker vocabulary:
A bounce – fist pound
Add a spark to your world!
